I am happy to announce that due to ‘Apprentice – Walking in the way of Christ’ being on its second print run I will be giving out free copies of the book to anyone who joins me on the remaining three Apprentice the Tour dates in Dorking, Bradford and Bristol. London was fantastic! Great questions, lovely music, brilliant audience! Really looking forward to the next three.

Reaction from the seats: London
We are delighted to be able to post a reaction from the 1st Apprentice event with Steve Chalke on the 12th November in London:
Beforehand I was (to be honest) thinking why am I trailing up to Waterloo on a wet Thursday night? However the time flew, and although I was on my own I never felt isolated. The buzz was very welcoming. Having previously planned to slip out early, I was very happy to stay for the whole evening. It was very stimulating, very interesting, very challenging and I went home feeling that I had been privileged to be part of a really godly night. It was Christian mission at its best.

Cathy Burton shares her thoughts as she sets off on the Apprentice Tour
Amidst the carnage of swine flu and sick bugs my house is somewhat exhausting, not to mention finishing an album and staying part of church life etc. The constant ticking in the back of my mind is "what am I going to sing on this Apprentice tour with Steve Chalke".
I just keep finding myself reflecting on the the fact that God's in it all, He's in every detail of life around me. So with the key theme discipleship coming up over these dates, I'm just thinking I need to hear God's voice in the day to day. In the middle of the nappies and paracetamols! How can I stay close to Him and be mindful of Him in all this? I'm just considering my songs, and I want to bring an openness to God to be real and honest. I'm excited to see what God's going to do in our times all together.
love Cath

Steve Chalke on the launch of the tour
Steve Chalke blogs about his thoughts on the eve of the launch of the Apprentice tour.
Less than 24 hours now until the first ‘Apprentice the Tour’ event kicks off at church.co.uk. Waterloo and I’m excited! I’m currently in Salford at our National Forum with the Principals from 11 Oasis Academies around the UK. I’m enjoying the company of some of the country’s most outstanding and inspirational head teachers. They say that a great teacher is one who truly interacts with their students - their apprentices. At ccuk Kennington Road (opposite Lambeth North tube) tomorrow night, we’re going to do just that, we’re going to ‘interact’ with the teaching of the world’s greatest rabbi – Jesus, as we grapple with some of the truths, challenges and complexities of what it means to be a ‘apprentice of Christ’ in our 21st Century melting pot - see you there!
